Nome Alaska Souvenir Plate Antique (over 100 years old), leaf shaped souvenir plate, made in Austria, for the Kelly Co., Nome, Alaska. This plate shows a group of young Eskimos ("Esquimos"). Kelly & Co was in business in Nome in the early 1900s. 6 3/4 x 6 inches, trimmed in gold, with a small handle. Excellent condition, no cracks or chips. The Independent Order of Odd Fellows was a social and charitable organization which, with the affiliated Daughters of Rebekah were active in local and statewide projects. In the Juneau area the Hall of Alaska Lodge A-1 was first organized in Douglas city around 1900. In the 1930's, the Douglas I.O.O.F. lodge merged with the Hall of the Silver Bow Lodge No. 2, which had been operating in Juneau concurrently. The Silver Bow Lodge was active until 1985. Souvenir China 1890's Juneau, Alaska Koehler & James Souvenir China is very rare. This plate is similar to the Sitka souvenir china that was made in 1893. Koehler & James had a fur and curio store in the early 1890's in Juneau Alaska. Steamer Landing & Totem Poles, Wrangle Alaska. Very good condition with no chips or cracks. About 6 3/4 inches. I have also pictured below a photo (not included) of Koehler & James store where this plate was purchased over a hundred years ago! Christmas 1909 Douglas City, Alaska Souvenir Plate issued by MJ O'Connor, General Outfitters Nice rare plate from the Treadwell Gold Mine era, trimmed in gold, with colorful rose garland, and a center panel in full color showing the "MJ O'Connor General Outfitter" building. The legend reads: "Compliments of MJ O'Connor, Douglas City, Alaska, December 25th, 1909" About 8 1/4" diameter. Mark on back is red circle "Made in Germany". The plate can be hung via holes fired into the foot at the back. In excellent condition with no damage and hardly any wear to the gold trim.
