White Pass & Yukon Route Railroad special leather menu RARE RARE RARE This is one of the most amazing White Pass & Yukon Route items that I've ever had. It is a special menu printed on dark green leather for the Alaska Products Luncheon which was a Cabinet Special run from Skaguay (Skagway), Alaska, to Whitehorse, Yukon, on Sept. 2nd 1911. I've never seen another one of these, and it came from the estate of one of the founders of the White Pass. About 10 X 6 inches, irregular cut. 1905 Original White Pass & Yukon RR brochure A nice early April 1905 White Pass & Yukon Route railroad brochure that folds out into a wonderful, colorful, map. The map side is divided into two parts. The left side shows a highly detailed map of the Glacier bay, Skagway, Atlin region, north to Dawson at the top. The main part of the map shows Tacoma to the top of Alaska. The rectangular inset at the bottom is a "Map of the Tanana District showing T. M. R. R. and Creeks in Vicinity of Chena and Fairbanks" at a scale of 5 miles to the inch. This brochure is rare because it does NOT have the brown mottling around the borders of the map that one always sees in this April 1905 issue. The brown mottled maps were presumably factory rejects that were set aside by WP&YR in Skagway and never used; this one was not a reject, however, and is pristine and of excellent printing quality. The Very First Original White Pass & Yukon Route RR brochure An amazing June 1900 White Pass & Yukon Route railroad brochure that folds out into a wonderful, colorful, map. Extremely rare June 15, 1900 brochure. It’s the very first WP&YR brochure. I’ve only seen two of these since 1982, and I bought both of them. I sold the first one in 1990 to a very serious Alaska collector. It had more wear than this one. This one is in excellent condition. I doubt that one exists in better condition. 	The full 110-mile narrow-gauge railway of the White Pass & Yukon Route Railway was completed and launched in the summer of 1900, connecting Skagway, Alaska, to Whitehorse, Yukon. July 29, 1900: A ceremonial Golden Spike was driven in Carcross, Yukon Territory, by railroad president Samuel H. Graves, marking the physical completion of the entire line. August 1, 1900: Initial through-train service and operations officially began between Skagway and Whitehorse. August 15, 1900: Full regular passenger and freight service was established across the full 110-mile route. Late 1900 (Winter 1900–1901): The railway operated through its first harsh northern winter, cementing its role as the primary lifeline into the Klondike gold fields.
